Dali: Painting and Film, at MoMa New York City

Filed Under (Art, New York) by admin on 27-08-2008

One of the latest tributes to the master of surrealist painting, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, has organized the Dali: Painting and Film exhibition from June 29 to September 15, 2008.

A welcome departure from the usual painting exhibitions of Salvador Dali, this exhibition celebrates the cinematic vision of the artist which deeply influenced his paintings and other pieces of art. The same eye for creativity and deeply introspective expression marks his cinema as it did his paintings.

Visitors to the exhibition housed at The Joan and Preston Robert Tisch Exhibition Gallery can enjoy several related events like lectures, symposia, panel discussions and special readings of the artist’s letters and poems. A few of the films that inspired Dali are being specially screened at the Gallery’s theaters as a part of the exhibition. Check the website for details of museum hours and visitor fees.
